WILLIAM McLURE IV “My business is a testament to the power of Instagram,” says William McLure—although it’s also proof of the advantages of staying off the web. In 2015, the Birmingham, Alabama, native, then working on interiors for a local architect, moved into a 1920s house and began redecorating in his spare time. “I had no internet and no TV, so I kept busy. I was repainting the floors constantly.” McLure posted a few shots of his bohemian blue-and-white living room, hung with his own darkly intriguing paintings.
