Made in New Orleans, this dramatic chandelier looks like a preserved artifact from a 19th-century home, dripping with the candle wax of a bygone era. But appearances can be deceiving. In fact, this one-of-a-kind, steel-framed chandelier has been hand-dipped in plaster to achieve its Miss Havisham look. The work of Julie Neill, a decorator turned furniture designer who recently debuted a new lighting collection for Visual Comfort, the statement piece treads a fine line between old-world and new, marrying a traditional silhouette with a contemporary surface treatment.
