KELLY Smith and her two co-accused yesterday had their plea explanations read out in the Western Cape High Court. The trio are on trial for the disappearance of Joshlin Smith at the White City Multipurpose Centre in Saldanha Bay after the court decided to try mom Kelly, her berk Jacquen “Boeta” Appollis and their pal Steveno van Rhyn in front of their community. Previous tesitmony, including police documents, claim that Kelly only reported her child missing after more than six hours on 19 February – the day Joshlin went missing. In her plea explanation, Kelly admits to coming home at midday to tik with Boeta, who was looking after her three children. After that, she left the kids with her berk and went back to work before returning at 5pm…
