Seven years after Jupp Philipp took over the brand, Fortis has given its most important icon a peek into the future.

Along with Breitling, Fortis has been a preferred timekeeper for military squadrons and space agencies. And just as Georges Kern has spent the last seven years refining Breitling’s products, Jupp Philipp has done the same for Fortis with remarkable results. Philipp acquired Fortis in 2017 when it applied for debt restructuring. A longtime fan of the brand, his stewardship has been excellent. Last October, he dropped the last series upgrade: a refinement of the B-42 Official Cosmonauts Chronograph. Developed in partnership with Roscosmos, Fortis was the official watch for Soyuz, Mir, and ISS missions for a decade. Thirty years later, Fortis’ refreshed space chronograph is setting its sights even further, envisioning Mars as its destination.
