The Micro Artist Studio brings two new masterpieces this year

The Shinshu Watch Studio in Nagano is where Grand Seiko crafts its finest watches. This is where the Micro Artist Studio resides, where a small group of in-house artisans create some of Grand Seiko’s finest Masterpieces for this year. The Masterpiece Collection Limited Edition SBGZ009 The SBGZ009 is a true masterpiece, housed in platinum and fully engraved by hand from the lugs to the dial. The design is inspired by birch trees from a forest in East Shinshu. The watch is first polished using the brand’s Zaratsu method. After which, it is slowly and steadily hand-engraved with long grooves by a single artist. A similar pattern is found on the dial with the minute track and letters carved directly into its surface, and polished white gold indexes are applied on it. The watch…
