Tony has promised his clients a “week to remember” and it’s turning into just that. After picking up his posse from the airport he squeezes them all into a tiny hire car. “The van’s off the road just now” he explains (a little white lie – there is not and never has been any van) while pulling the rope down hard on a thousand euro flight deck, “so we’ll just all climb in here”
The forecast’s not great, but his tour promises to “follow the forecast” which means a bit of a trek from the south of France to Austria. They’ve taken the “scenic route” to avoid the tolls, which will add a bit to the trip but they’ll make it through he’s sure.
