Taken on a sunny day in 1969, this fantastic image of London’s Piccadilly Circus shows some of the famous advertising billboards that made this such an iconic view. Famous names like Gordons, Cinzano, Skol, Max Factor, Lloyds Bank and Gold Leaf can clearly be seen. But for us, it’s the traffic beneath the ads that provides the most interest now. Routemaster buses, FX4 taxis and Citroen DS aside, the street scene is dominated by Ford’s commercial vehicle line-up of the era including a couple of Mk1 Transits, an Anglia van and its new successor — the Mk1 Escort.…
