Simon Williams was 19 when he visited the Capri Jamboree with his father, Gordon and first laid eyes on our feature car. “Dad’s owned three Capris,” explains Simon, “including a 2.0S he showed at various events. He sometimes competed against this 1984 2.8i with a Turbo Technics conversion and we became friends with the turbo’s owner, Les Cornick.” Simon initially bought a red 2-litre Capri Laser. “I always dreamed of owning a low-mileage example and later bought a 3.0S with 5000 miles I put a lot of effort into detailing.” We featured that 3.0S in 2009. “Capris were becoming classics and I wanted dad to make his a concours example.
