For understandable reasons, the blue oval-built competition cars we as Ford aficionados covet most are the winners; those cars that, for whatever reason, helped define the cult of the sporting Ford and, more often than not, achieved great success in the process. These cars, and the list is legion, taking in everything from the Escort RS1800 to the Sierra RS500 and everything in between, tend to take primacy whenever a Ford fanatic is compelled to ponder their marque’s most beloved competition machines.
