There’s nothing like a Classic Ford Show deadline to provoke progress on a project — and the two-door Estate moves ahead accordingly.

What’s been done this month: Fitted suspension and wheels, painted the Estate Next on the to-do list: Try to mate the Crossflow engine and Cortina ’box Thanks to: Molotow Belton Premium Spray Paints I love a good deadline! It focuses my mind, and justifies me not doing the things on my long to-do list. Simon is the one who often sets me deadlines, and this time the request came: ‘Can you bring a project car to the Classic Ford Show?’ That call set me planning a very aspirational list of things I wanted to get done before I put my two-door estate on display. Looking back now I’m amazed how unrealistic that list was! I went on to reduce that list just about every day as I fell further behind…
