It’s hard to believe, but just two weeks prior to the Start of Season Fordmeet at Squires café near Leeds, the event had to be postponed due to a waterlogged field. With so much planning and promotion taking place behind the scenes, the last thing organiser Simon Shipley and his crew wanted to do was cancel the eagerly anticipated event entirely. Fortunately, the right decision was made and with a now-unusual let-up in rainfall and a promising forecast, the famous Squires showfield dried out for round two with the bonus of sunshine for the 700 plus attendees. While this event was open to any car wearing a Ford badge, the favourable weather brought out a healthy number of classics resulting in a wide selection of Escorts, Cortinas, Fiestas, Granadas, Capris,…
