Keeping it Eco… mostly

The settings I’ve defaulted to in the Seal are normal regen (which acts just like engine braking) in combination with Eco drive mode. It’s smooth and helps discourage my lead-footed tendencies. I’ve kept it in Eco so much that even flicking to Standard for an extra burst of energy for overtaking feels hilariously fast. And this is the less powerful Seal; on full throttle my old blue one felt like I’d activated hyperdrive. These forays into Standard may explain the dip in efficiency. That and lots of long-distance drives have harmed the economy figures this month, not helped by my preference for not using cruise control. The running costs have gone up, too, because I’ve been using public chargers so much. Whoops… BYD Seal Month 5 The story so far…
