CAMERA HOUSE TURNS 40!

A New Image, But The Same Dedication To Photography As the Camera House group celebrates its 40th anniversary, we talk to Nigel Roper – who runs two stores in suburban Melbourne – about how things have changed in photo retailing during this time and what might lie ahead.

FEATURE Established in 1983 and now with 53 stores around Australia, Camera House has been dedicated to providing photographers – and now also video-makers – with reliable service and competitive prices. It has been an ongoing policy of the group to have sales staff who are also keen photo enthusiasts and so better understand the needs and wants of customers. Camera House even runs its own annual photography awards for staff members and the company very much sees itself as an active member of the Australian photographic community.
