BACKGROUND Singapore Airlines became the launch customer for the double-decker Airbus A380 in 2007, and is the second-largest operator of the aircraft after Emirates. There are currently 12 A380s in the fleet, which includes five new aircraft (delivered in 2018 – Airbus stopped production in 2021), while the rest of the fleet has been retrofitted, with a new business class seat product. The new layout sees all premium seats on the upper deck, while premium economy and economy occupy the lower deck. CHECK IN I arrived at London Heathrow Terminal 2 at 0930 for flight SQ317.
