BRISBANE AIRPORT (BNE) saw a significant recovery in passenger numbers in its financial year ended June 30, 2024, with 22.6 million passengers or 95 per cent of pre-Covid FY19 levels, and notable growth in international travel, which rose 39 per cent over the past year.
In total there were 17 million domestic passengers, up 5.7 per cent on the previous year, and reaching 97 per cent of pre-pandemic levels.
In the Brisbane Airport international terminal, there were 5.6 million passengers in the 12 months to June 30, 2024, representing 89 per cent of 2019 levels..
The year was marked by ten international airline route launches, including the return of nonstop flights to cities in China by China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines.
