Jorja Smith, in a grey tracksuit, a Dior denim bag on her arm, is positively giddy to feel direct sunlight on her skin, craning her neck skyward to the window before settling into a booth in The Savoy’s American Bar. Today, bright-eyed and bare-faced, she seems to be the physical embodiment of the optimism that comes with the promise of a new season.
