Greg van Avermaet debuted his 2020 race bike at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad in Belgium in February. It’s pimped out with a golden fade paintjob – a nod to his 2016 Olympic road race victory. The other difference to the production bike is the groupset – Team CCC is sponsored by Shimano, so Greg runs a full Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 R9170 groupset, with sprint shifters integrated into the drops.
And while some other teams have been experimenting with tubeless tyres, CCC has gone the tried-and-tested tubular route, with 28mm Vittoria Corsas on Cadex 42 tubular wheels.…
