Unlike other places in the world, which come to mind when people talk about male elegance and that clear out when boutiques close - such as Savile Row in London -, in via Gesù, Milan, there are inhabitants too: the Milanese middle class families that have lived here from generations, overlooking secret gardens, those charmed Stendhal.
For their first boutique in Milan, after the Parisian one, Gianni and Jerry Giannini, Doucal’s (1973), second generation of men shoemaking artisans, chose via Gesù, heart of male Italian lifestyle. A small street, 270 metres only, between via Spiga and via Montenapoleone, the perfect destination for a man with little precious time to spend for his favourite delight, the most Italian male delight: doing shopping.
