Creating buildings that honour their past has brought Ian Moore to a place where revisiting his early projects is a pleasure.

AS THE SON OF A NEW ZEALAND BUILDER, architect Ian Moore moved house 34 times before his 18th birthday. It doesn’t take a psychoanalyst to tell you why he now wants to build houses that last 100 years. Ian is a champion of adaptive reuse, creating globally publicised projects that work into the existing fabric of the building to produce contemporary living conditions that skilfully hold on to traces of the past.
