Global plans for ultra-luxury TVR

Brand gives taste of electric SUV and saloon it will develop with major new backer

Styling images of a TVR SUV and a TVR saloon have been revealed, giving the first visual indications of how the reborn brand hopes to expand beyond its traditional core of sports cars and build a three-model line-up towards the end of the decade. The images back up the strategy outlined exclusively to Autocar last week, when CEO Jim Berriman confirmed that TVR was in “advanced talks” with a third-party EV platform provider to develop the vehicles for production. Berriman described the potential partner as “highly established, world-leading”. The ambitious plan was created by Berriman and TVR co-owners Daniel Layton, owner of Ensorcia Automotive, a division of a global lithium extraction company, and Les Edgar, who initiated the rebirth of TVR back in 2013.
