Legend has it that the producers of the original Mad Max movie built up an AMX as a MFP Interceptor car (yellow with blue and red markings) but an engine fire during pre-production saw the AMX deleted from the fleet of movie cars. It’s thought that AMX No.15 was that car. The current owner, New Zealander Doug Kinney, doesn’t know if the Mad Max story is true or not but he reckons it’s a great story so will build it regardless. He bought this car in July 2013 after coming across it on the net, flew across the ditch and drove down to Nowra where the car had been stored for 30 years in a shed not far from the sea.
