VARIOUS LOCATIONS, HONOLULU Honolulu Biennial: Middle of Now | Here 3/8–5/8 The inaugural Honolulu Biennial entitled “Middle of Now | Here” challenges the perception of Hawaii as a sequestered location, and aims to showcase the dynamic and diverse perspectives of artists from communities linked by the Pacific Ocean. Under the directorship of Mori Art Museum’s Fumio Nanjo, and curated by Ngahiraka Mason, formerly from Auckland Art Gallery Toi o T?maki, the Biennial will feature more than 30 artists from Hawaii, the Pacific Islands, Asia, North America, Australia and New Zealand. Among the participating artists are Vernon Ah Kee, Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan, Yuki Kihara and Lee Mingwei.
