Ancient Tales of Wit and Wisdom (5 in 1) is a collection of five books published by Amar Chitra Katha, the well known Indian publisher of comics for children.Ancient Tales of Wit and Wisdom (5 in 1), composed by Anant Pai, is a collection some of the most famous folktales of India. The stories included in the book are A Bag of Gold Coins, Choice of Friends, How Friends are Parted, The Tiger and Woodpecker, and Friend and Foes. The tales in this collection are taken from varied sources including The Hitopadesha, The Mahabharata, and the Persian version of The Panchatantra. The humorous story of The Tiger and the Woodpecker is taken from the Keyurabahu Charitramu written by the Telugu poet Manchana. Children will have something good to learn from all the stories included in the book. The book is packed with beautiful and colorful illustrations, which will make it an interesting read for children.
