Med sine mesterlige skud blev Wild Bill en legendarisk revolvermand i Det Vilde Vesten.

Mange af Wild Bill Hickoks eventyr er blevet overdrevet -både af ham selv og af andre. Men han er stadig en af de mest spændende personer i Det Vilde Vesten. Wild Bill var soldat, spion, sherif, spiller og skuespiller. Aviserne fortalte om hans eventyr og gjorde ham til en helt. Bliver en god skytte Wild Bill blev født som James Butler Hickok den 27. maj 1837. Hans forældre var med i en gruppe, der smuglede slaver nordpå. Det var farligt. Engang blev han og hans far jaget af politiet. De begyndte at skyde, men Wild Bill blev ikke bange. I stedet begyndte han at øve sig. Han blev rigtig god!
