IT’S a thrill anytime we get to line up a Patrol and LandCruiser for comparison in 4X4 Australia. The two nameplates have been the constant presence in the Australian 4x4 market forever and form the division between so many enthusiasts; you’re either a Patrol bloke or a Cruiser bloke. It’s exciting to have the respective manufacturers creating variants of their respective 4x4 wagons with improved off-road hardware like better suspension, bigger tyres and locking differentials, even if they only offer them on the more expensive high-spec grades. Of course, we’re referring to our two cover 4x4s here: the Nissan Patrol Warrior and the Toyota LandCruiser GR Sport.
