Bloomberg BusinessWeek Magazine

I am been a long-time subscriber to BusinessWeek for many years. I like the weekly format. Perfect for busy professionals like myself. The content is fair and unbiased. All articles are subject to editorial review, and the level of journalism is top-notch. I can't say the same about a lot of web content that I read on other news sites.

It's so hard to find financial news from the center perspective (mine). It doesn't seem like anybody's interested in presenting what's going on and keeping his/her own political leanings a secret. With the name "Bloomberg" in the title I expected something left of center but not this far left. If that's how you want yours or it doesn't matter, it's a well done weekly.

The articles in Bloomberg Businessweek are fascinating. You learn a lot about the world, and it's not just business. There's also politics, new tech, innovations in medicine, and in-depth articles on all sorts of things. For example, there was one about fracking, another about Disney princess dolls, and another about Marvel movies. I think if most people were to pick up Businessweek, they'd be pleasantly surprised to find articles of interest to them.

The main thing the magazine has against it is the terrible design. The table of contents are a mess. Quotes are used instead of telling you what an article is about. How unhelpful is that? There's an obsession with filling the page, which is messy and reduces clarity. And most of the illustrations are childish. The magazine is great, but it needs a design overhaul focused on clarity (and not looking silly).

I only renewed because of a super-special, rock-bottom price. Otherwise I would have let the subscription lapse. The magazine has gone downhill in a big way since being taken over several years ago by Michael Bloomberg. And the art director must think he is Peter Max, with weird, squiggly designs often superimposed over the text, often making it difficult to read.

This magazine does not seem to be overly stuck on it's political views. Non political. Coverage is balanced and insightful. Extremely well documented Information. Great variety of subjects. Always allows article subjects to enlighten the information if they choose. Takes you inside the heart of companies being inner workings. Overall synopsis follows most every article for the reader.

IMPROVING BUT STILL NOT NEARLY AS GOOD AS ORIGINAL BUSINESS WEEK

A must for any investor.

Bloomberg Businessweek has many articles, on regular basis that are varied enough to keep it interesting every time. The periodical offers impressive, objective and unbiased reporting, which is very informative and easy to read. The magazine helps me stay current and more aware of what's happening in the business world and global markets.
